Get Down with the Sickness

Having returned from the Download Festival, which absorbed every hour of every day from 09 – 13th of June, I went back to the gym tentatively…

After all, I had managed to consume somewhere in the region of 100 units of alcohol over a matter of days, whilst sleeping in a scummy tent and spending my days in a field…

Nevertheless, I survived and even managed to make a pretty cool video of the whole thing, which will appear on here in due course.

My return to the gym was therefore energetic, but wary. I did the following routine:

Incline bench press at 70kg
Cable flyes at 2 x 12.5kg
Tricep dips
Barball curls at 30kg
Dumbell curls at 18, 16, and 14kg
Hammer curls at 14, 12 and 10 kg

Which went down a storm! I was feeling very good when I got home that evening.

Unfortunately, I was then struck down with gastric flu, which took me out for 48 hours. For those interested, it largely involved puking up…more or less constantly.

Although I was back to work today, I will be building back up to my training and have delayed rowing to some time next week.

Expect lots more when things pick up again!
