First Wrestling Videos!

Having been suffering from a horrible cold/chest-problem-type-thing, I was surprised to find it cured, by an extended period of running, jumping, rolling and wrestling!  Here you see some evidence, in the form of training footage from Slough Freestyle Wrestling Club, where I am training for 1/30th of my Gold Challenge.

(Please note, I am at least 3 stone (20kg) lighter than both the guys in this video!)

OK so the part about wrestling curing the common cold isn’t entirely true.  In fact, it’s totally false.  Although I did feel strangely healthy after last night’s wrestling, I now feel horrendous again.  For a brief time, however, I was fairly convinced I had made a major scientific breakthrough…

In any case, wrestling training was as fun and exhausting as ever, though this week I had the pleasure of being reintroduced to Jaspal, who has been wrestling at the club since before I even joined the first time around.  I continued to work on my technique, which is slowly coming back to me, as well as the flexibility in my legs, which is somewhat awful these days.

In bad news, I seem to have trapped and/or pinched a nerve in my left arm, which is causing me all kinds of minor problems  the most concerning of which is the gradual loss of feeling in my little finger…  Still, you can’t make an omelette without cracking a few eggs (or, as I like to say, you can’t have Valhalla without killing off a few Gods).

About the Author
Ed Gamester is a silly man who lives in the United Kingdom. He is the harbinger of Ghost Squad, singer of Gay Bum and author of A Rum Run Awry. He fights, kills and dies for TV and films, and gallivants around the place wrestling, drinking and lifting things for glory and profit. Where Ed treads, there stamp the boots of the Guild. Ed does not wear glasses, but feels this photograph makes him look more intelligent and artistically talented than he is. Feel free to contact him: he is disappointingly affable.
